At Cantera Montessori, community means showing up when it matters most. The recent flash floods have left many families in our area without essentials. Some have lost their homes, others are without food, water, or basic supplies. The need is real, and we have an opportunity to help.
This week, Cantera Montessori is hosting a Community Donation Drive to support families who have been affected. We are working closely with local churches that are receiving many requests for help. They are doing important work, and we want to support them.
From Monday through Friday, you can drop off donations at school. Ms. Milinh will deliver the items to local distribution centers each day to make sure they reach families quickly.
If you’re able to give, please consider donating any of the following:
Every donation helps. Whether it’s a pack of socks or a small toy, you’re bringing comfort and relief to someone who needs it.
This is a moment to show caring and responsibility. When we respond with generosity, we teach our children the value of kindness, service, and support. That’s what a strong community looks like and is built on. Being part of a Montessori community gives children a lived experience of what it means to belong, contribute, and support one another. In moments of need; whether emotional, social, or practical they learn not only how to receive care, but how to extend it. This deep sense of connection teaches them that they are part of something larger than themselves, preparing them to step into the wider world with empathy, resilience, and a heart for service.
We are grateful for the love and support of our Cantera families. Thank you for being part of this effort and for thinking of others during this time.
With appreciation,
The Cantera Montessori Team
