Cantera Montessori Kindergarteners Visit Georgetown Public Library
Our Kindergarten children from Cantera Montessori enjoyed a field trip to the Georgetown Public Library in February.
During the visit, children explored the library space and learned how it supports reading, research, and quiet discovery. They practiced respectful library behaviors while engaging with books and materials that encourage curiosity and a love of reading.
This experience supported early literacy, independence, and responsibility as children learned how community spaces like libraries can be used for learning and enjoyment. Visiting the library also helped children connect classroom reading work to a real-world environment.
They listened to a STEM story time learning about bubbles; such as how they form, what they’re made of, and had a fun bubble party at the end!
Field trips like this allow children to build confidence as learners while strengthening their understanding of the community around them.
