Our Kindergarten students spent a wonderful day at Ardenwood Historic Farm on November 6th. This special field trip gave them the chance to step back in time and see what life was like on a working farm. The children explored wide open fields, met farm animals, and learned about traditional farming practices. They watched demonstrations, asked questions, and connected classroom lessons about history and nature to real-world experiences. This outing reflected the Montessori approach of hands-on discovery. Our teaching team encouraged children to notice details, share observations, and reflect on what they

On November 11th, our Lead Guides will meet with each family for Parent Teacher Conferences. Progress reports: Each family will receive a written report on Friday, November 7th as a reference for your meeting. Focused goal setting: Together, we’ll outline next steps for your child from November through March. On October 24th, our MSOSV Kindergarteners enjoyed a field trip to Spina Farms Pumpkin Patch. This special outing connected to classroom lessons about farms, nature, and the changing seasons. The trip gave our students a chance to explore these themes in a real-world setting. Immersion in Farm Life The day began with a guided tour through the the lifecycle of a pumpkin. Students listened to an engaging talk about pumpkins and farming, sparking curiosity and giving them new knowledge to bring back into the classroom. On October 10th, our kindergarteners from our Cantera campus enjoyed a fall adventure at Sweet Eats Farm in Georgetown, Texas. The children spent the day exploring, learning, and celebrating the season in a hands-on way. The trip began with a walk through the pumpkin fields, where each child got to explore all the different types and sizes of pumpkins. Throughout the visit, the children experienced petting goats and sheep, held baby chicks, and got to use an apple cannon. Each activity deepened their curiosity about nature while reinforcing what they’ve been learning

A Journey Beyond the Classroom At MSOSV, we believe in helping children build a sense of community from an early age. Each month, our kindergarteners visit a different community site tied to curricular themes, from cultural arts and local businesses to civic services and nature spaces. Field trips are planned intentionally to integrate with classroom studies, be developmentally appropriate, and allow reflect discussion points. Recently, our Kindergarten class from our Cantera campus visited the Georgetown Police Department for an exciting day of discovery. Meeting Our Community Helpers On September 17th, 2025, our Kindergarten

The Montessori Journey & Discovery event offers a powerful glimpse into your child’s classroom experience. On September 18th and 19th at 5:00 PM, currently enrolled families and families in the process of enrolling are invited to work with real Montessori materials such as the Pink Tower and Geography puzzle maps, gaining insights into how these tools foster independence, focus, and joy in learning. Our teaching team will guide you through each area of the classroom and answer your questions along the way. This is more than a tour, it’s an opportunity

At Cantera Montessori School, we believe that education is a partnership between the school and the family. Just as the Montessori method emphasizes collaboration, independence, and respect in the classroom, we believe these values are equally important when nurturing a vibrant and supportive parent community. Why Parent Community Matters A strong parent community provides the foundation for a child’s educational journey. When families are engaged and feel connected, children thrive emotionally, socially, and academically. The bridge between home and school becomes stronger, fostering consistency and trust in the child’s daily environment. Parents who

The Heart of Montessori: Honoring the Dedication of Our SAGE Adult Learners At the Montessori School of Silicon Valley (MSOSV), we know that a child’s journey is profoundly shaped by the presence of exceptional guides. Those who observe with care, lead with intention, and foster an environment built on respect, curiosity, and growth. This vision shines through the commitment of our SAGE teacher training participants. On any given evening, after full days spent in the classroom, our adult learners can be found practicing their lessons, refining materials, and thoughtfully preparing to support

At MSOSV, our commitment to nurturing the mathematical minds of our young learners is unwavering. Recently, through our Sage Teacher Education Program, we hosted a Montessori Math refresher and training session for our Lead Guides. This initiative aimed to deepen our understanding of Montessori math principles and enhance our teaching methodologies. Embracing the Mathematical Mind Dr. Maria Montessori recognized the innate mathematical potential within every child. She believed that children possess a natural ability to abstract, reason, and calculate. Our training session emphasized this philosophy, exploring how sensorial materials like the Pink
