On September 19th, our Kindergarteners visited San Jose Fire Station 16 for a memorable field trip focused on community helpers. This experience connected directly to their classroom studies while giving them an up-close look at the important role firefighters play in keeping our community safe.
Welcomed by Firefighter Antonio and the B Crew of Station 16, our students learned about daily responsibilities, fire safety practices, and the essential equipment firefighters use. The children explored the fire engine, tried on firefighter gear, and listened to stories about real emergencies.
One of the most exciting moments was when the students had the chance to use the fire hose! The firefighters also led a discussion on fire safety, encouraging questions and helping the children understand how to respond in an emergency and when to call 911.
Experiences like this help our students build curiosity, confidence, and stronger connections to the world around them. The visit to Station 16 gave our Kindergarteners both excitement and valuable lessons they will carry with them.
