At Montessori School of Silicon Valley, we are always grateful for the opportunity to watch children grow into confident, capable, and caring members of their classroom communities. This month, we are delighted to spotlight The Mills Family. Audrey joined our Crescent Montessori campus in July 2024 when she was three and a half years old. Since then, she has become a joyful part of her classroom community, building confidence, independence, and meaningful relationships along the way. Her family shared: “Crescent Montessori has been such a wonderful community for our family! Its teachers and

We are thrilled to kick off our Summer Habitats Curriculum with the magical world of the Forest! Over the past two weeks, our children across all age groups have been immersed in the sights, sounds, textures, and wonders of the forest through joyful, hands-on Montessori experiences. From the youngest infants in Nido to our confident Kindergarten students, every child has explored the forest in ways that match their developmental stage; touching soft moss, listening to animal sounds, creating nature art, and building their very own keepsake projects. What Each Age Group Explored

At Montessori School of Silicon Valley, every child’s journey is unique, and we are honored to be part of each family’s story. This month, we are delighted to spotlight Hunter and her family, whose MSOSV journey began when Hunter was just three months old. Hunter started at our Calaveras Montessori location in June 2024 as an infant. From her earliest months, she was welcomed into a warm, nurturing environment where she was cared for, encouraged, and supported each day. When our Calaveras location closed in June 2025, Hunter’s family remained connected

As the school year draws to a close, our Kindergarten students from Cabrillo Montessori, Crescent Montessori, and Peak Ave Montessori came together for a special tradition: their final field trip of the year. This year's destination was Creighton Park in Milpitas, one of the city's newer community parks and the perfect setting for a day of exploration, friendship, and celebration. For many of the children, this field trip was an opportunity to connect with fellow Kindergarteners from across our California campuses. Throughout the day, they enjoyed time on the playground, explored the

A lot of things change in the summer. School schedules shift, routines get rearranged, and families spend a lot of time figuring out what the next few months are going to look like. At MSOSV, we take a different approach. For our children, summer is a continuation of learning in a whole new direction. The same teachers, the same classrooms, and the same Montessori structure that your child has thrived in all year carry right through to June, July, and August. What changes is the curriculum, and this summer, it is

The MSOSV Moving Up Ceremony is a milestone marker for our kindergarteners, a moment when the whole school community pauses to recognize how far these children have come. And the journey has been remarkable. Montessori Kindergarten is the final year in a three-year journey through primary. By the time a child reaches their kindergarten year, they have accumulated skills, habits, and a depth of understanding that most people outside the Montessori world find surprising. The Moving Up Ceremony is a chance to show that work and reflect on each child's growth. Each

Our kindergarteners set off for Happy Hollow Farm with big smiles and even bigger excitement, ready for a morning filled with fun, discovery, and a little bit of adventure to celebrate the close of their school year. From the moment they arrived, the energy was contagious. There was so much to see, explore, and experience. From wide open spaces to wander, animals to observe, and endless opportunities for curiosity to lead the way. It was one of those mornings where learning felt effortless, woven naturally into every moment of play and

Every morning, a teacher is ready. The classroom is prepared, the materials are in place, and your child is welcomed by someone who genuinely knows them. That does not happen by accident. It happens because of the dedicated Lead Guides, Heads of School, Assistant Heads of School, and Assistant Teachers at every campus who show up for our children every single day. Teacher Appreciation Week, May 4th–8th, gave our families a chance to say thank you in a real and tangible way. Each day, children arrived with flowers, handmade cards, and

There is something remarkable that happens in a child’s second year of Primary (TK)/Pre-K at MSOSV. It’s not always visible at first, but once you know what to look for, you can see it in everything: how they carry themselves in the classroom, how they approach their work, how they interact with the children around them. The first year of Primary is rich with discovery. Children are meeting Montessori materials for the first time, learning the rhythms of the classroom, building independence through practical life work, and developing their sensorial awareness.

Spring at MSOSV is a special time. And for our Kindergarteners, it is nothing short of a celebration of everything they have become. Every skill, every moment of focused work, every challenge they pushed through over the past three years is now visible in what they are creating and doing right now. This is the season where it all comes together, and it is remarkable to witness. The Button Tree One of the most meaningful projects our Kindergarteners complete this spring is their button tree. This is not a simple craft. Creating a
