What a vibrant and joyful journey we have shared! As our Summer Habitats Curriculum comes to a beautiful close, we celebrate two unforgettable weeks exploring the lush, layered, and colorful Rainforest Habitat, and the incredible growth we’ve witnessed across every age group.

From soft crinkle leaves and bright tissue-paper flowers to layered garden beds, sprinkler “rain” play, and final touches on keepsake books and dioramas, our children have immersed themselves in the magic of the rainforest. The energy, creativity, and wonder in our classrooms have been truly inspiring.

What Each Age Group Explored in the Rainforest

Nido (9 months – 2 years)

Our youngest learners delighted in bright colors, fuzzy textures, and gentle “rain” from the sprinkler. They explored crinkle paper and shiny fabrics, added the final “Rainforest Jungle” page to their Sensory Habitat Touch Book, and enjoyed tropical fruit snacks. Their wide-eyed wonder and happy splashes made every moment special.

Pre Primary (2–3 years)

Our toddlers proudly created vibrant tissue-paper flowers, matched rainforest animals, graded bright colors, and built layered collages. They enjoyed Jungle Smoothies and the colorful Fruit Platter Feast, and proudly completed their Sensory Habitat Touch Books with handprints and photos. The garden walks and sprinkler rain play brought pure joy!

Primary (3–6 years)

Our Primary children explored rainforest layers through maps, food chains, and adaptations. They created stunning tissue-paper flowers and layered collages, practiced bright color grading, and added rich 2-page spreads with writing and drawings to their “My Habitats Adventure Book.” Their growing scientific thinking and creativity shone brightly.

Kindergarten (5–6 years)

Our Kindergarten students took on leadership roles with confidence. They built detailed rainforest food chains and adaptation studies, worked on thoughtful journal reflections, added the final layer to their shoebox dioramas, and enjoyed reading rainforest stories to their younger buddies. Their dioramas and journals beautifully captured the complexity and wonder of the rainforest.

Highlights from the Rainforest & Summer’s End

• Classrooms filled with bright colors, crinkle sounds, and the scent of tropical fruit.
• Children proudly showed off completed books and growing dioramas.
• Outdoor garden walks and sprinkler “rain” created magical shared memories.
• The end-of-summer Habitats Party was a joyful celebration of creativity, growth, and community.

Over these eight weeks, our children have not only learned about forests, oceans, deserts, and rainforests; they have developed confidence, independence, collaboration, and a deep love for the natural world.
