From Babies to Alumni: Trunk or Treat at Peak Avenue
At Peak Avenue, Trunk or Treat looks a little different at every age, and on Friday we got to see all of it at once.
Our babies came along in a parent’s arms or a stroller, wide-eyed at the costumes and colors. Our toddlers walked from trunk to trunk holding tight to a grown-up’s hand, stopping to point at anything that sparkled. Our Primary children and kindergartners marched up on their own, chose a treat, said thank you, and headed off to the next trunk.
Watching all those ages together is a little like watching a child grow up in fast-forward. At every stage, our guides make room for children to do what they’re ready to do on their own, and you could see that growth from one trunk to the next.
Trunk or Treat is also our biggest alumni event of the year. Families whose children have moved on from Peak Avenue come back year after year, and on Friday our former students were back on campus saying hello to the guides who knew them when they were small.
Our families and local businesses brought the decorations and the treats, and Halloween-themed activities filled in between. For parents, it was a chance to meet families from across the school, from the infant room to Kindergarten and beyond.
Thank you to every trunk host and every family who joined us in Morgan Hill. Children First, Always, and on Friday that meant a campus built around trick-or-treaters of every size.
