Fall Festivities and Community Connections at Cabrillo Montessori

There is something special about fall at Cabrillo Montessori! As the season brings cooler weather, colorful decorations, and exciting traditions, our school community is looking forward to one of our favorite celebrations of the year, our annual Harvest Festival!

On Thursday, October 15th, Cabrillo will welcome families for an afternoon of festive games, creative crafts, sweet treats, and plenty of fall fun. One of the highlights of this year’s celebration will be our outdoor costume parade, where children can proudly show off their favorite costumes alongside their classmates. From superheroes and storybook characters to pumpkins and playful creatures, we can’t wait to see the creativity and excitement our children bring to the day!

The Celebration Begins in our Classrooms Long Before the Festival

In true Montessori fashion, our children have been preparing their own Harvest Festival bags, bringing creativity, independence, and a sense of ownership into the experience. Our youngest children may contribute sweet handprints or footprints, while our older children enjoy designing and decorating their bags with their own personal touches. Each bag will be carried throughout the festival to collect treats and prizes before making its way home as a special keepsake of this year’s celebration.

Beyond the costumes and activities, Harvest Festival is a wonderful reminder of what makes our Cabrillo community so meaningful. Throughout the school year, children develop friendships, build confidence, and find a sense of belonging within their classrooms. Celebrations like this give them the opportunity to share that part of their world with the people they love most.

For parents, it is a chance to connect with fellow families, visit with teachers, and enjoy the friendships that continue to grow throughout our school. For our newer families, it is an opportunity to experience the warmth and welcoming spirit of Cabrillo while becoming part of the traditions that bring us together year after year.

At Cabrillo Montessori, community is something we build together, one shared experience at a time. As we welcome the beginning of our fall and holiday celebrations, we are grateful for the families and teaching teams who make these moments so memorable.
