This summer, we held an exciting event, “Splash Into Summer,” filled with refreshing activities and inspiring moments. One highlight of the day was a special visit from Firefighter Jose Andrade, who is also a proud parent of two children (2 & 5 year old) at our MSOSV Cabrillo location.

Arriving under a very warm summer sky, amid the squeals of delight and splashing water, Andrade set up an engaging booth that turned our Splash Into Summer event into an even more memorable occasion. He came with firefighting gear and introduced it to the kids. He also shared important lessons about safety, dedication, and the hard work it takes to be a firefighter.

It was an inspiring lesson about the importance of training, practice and dedication in reaching our goals. This motivational message left a strong impression on our little listeners, underscoring the guiding principles of Montessori education – hard work, independence, and the pursuit of personal potential.

And of course a highlight of Andrade’s visit was when he handed out badge stickers, pencils, and coloring pages. These fun items brought smiles to the children’s faces and creatively emphasized the importance of safety and highlighted the vital role firefighters play in our community.

At MSOSV, we believe that involving our community in our programs enhances our children’s learning experience. Firefighter Andrade’s presence, as both a community figure and MSOSV parent, significantly enriched our Splash Into Summer event. We deeply appreciate our families for all they do for us and the community.

Splash Into Summer was a great event for our children to cool off and play. It was also an opportunity to learn, be inspired, and create fun memories. This event reflected our commitment to holistic education through community interactions and practical experiences. We are thrilled to have made this summer event a splash!
