Summer at MSOSV: Same Great Classroom, a Brand New World to Explore
A lot of things change in the summer. School schedules shift, routines get rearranged, and families spend a lot of time figuring out what the next few months are going to look like. At MSOSV, we take a different approach.
For our children, summer is a continuation of learning in a whole new direction. The same teachers, the same classrooms, and the same Montessori structure that your child has thrived in all year carry right through to June, July, and August. What changes is the curriculum, and this summer, it is one that we are genuinely excited to share.
Starting June 8th, MSOSV launches its Summer Curriculum focused on Habitats. Over the coming months, children will explore four distinct ecosystems: the forest, the rainforest, the desert, and the ocean. Each habitat becomes a rich environment for inquiry, hands-on discovery, and the kind of immersive exploration that young children are naturally built for.
Montessori education holds that children learn best when they are in relationship with the real world. A summer focused on habitats puts that belief directly into practice. Children will encounter plants, animals, ecosystems, and the interconnectedness of living things in ways that are age-appropriate, engaging, and deeply meaningful.
For families new to MSOSV’s summer program, here is what to expect: nothing changes about your child’s daily experience except the topic they are exploring. Drop-off and pick-up times are the same. Their guide is the same. The structure of their day is the same. The only difference is the world they get to discover.
You may also notice a change starting June 8th in Transparent Classroom, our lesson-tracking platform. Lesson notifications will be paused for the summer while we make backend updates to prepare for the new school year. Your child’s progress is still being tracked, lesson recordings are still available if you want to access them, and your weekly newsletter, photos, and daily updates continue without interruption. Think of it as Transparent Classroom taking its own summer reboot so that everything runs smoothly when the new school year starts in mid-August.
Summer at MSOSV is a continuation of the same thoughtful, nurturing education your child receives all year long, just with a whole new world waiting to be explored. We cannot wait to see what they discover.
